League Goal Scoring Feats
Despite being in existence for over
120-years, Lincoln City have found it difficult to secure
the services of a regular 20-goal a season striker.
In the early days of football, this was understandable,
as the Football League consisted of just two small
divisions, which meant that players were unable to make
46 league appearances a season that they are now eligible
for. However, only on 26 occasions has a Lincoln City
player scored more than 20 league goals in a season.
The most recent is Simon Yeo, who scored 21 league goals
during the 2004/05 season. Prior to Yeo, it was Gareth
Ainsworth during the 1996/97 season, when he scored 22
goals from 46 appearances. Legendry Imps' player Alan
Hall holds the record for the most goals scored during a
season for Lincoln City, when he scored 41 goals from 40
appearances.
