Aston Villa Ban Imp From Carling Cup Final
4th February 2010
One Lincoln City player will not be attending this year's
Carling Cup Final after his parent club banned for
disciplinary reasons.
Step forward Nathan Baker, on loan at Lincoln from Aston
Villa, who will face Manchester United in final later
this month.
Villa had issued their players with tickets for
"friends and family" but Baker has been caught
selling his tickets on Facebook at £200 each. This has
led to Villa banning him from final and making Baker
apologise for his actions. However, that appears to be
the end of the matter.
An Aston Villa spokesperson said: "The club is
saddened that Nathan has been so foolish. It shouldn't be
forgotten, however, that Nathan is just 18 years old and
he has a lot to learn. His actions were naive and he is
extremely embarrassed and regretful at having let down
himself, the club and Aston Villa fans."
