Accrington Stanley Coach Attacked
17th February 2010
It might have been a bad night on the pitch for
Accrington Stanley at Lincoln on Tuesday evening, but it
was an even worse one for their supporters' coach.
After the game, which Lincoln City won, Accrington
Stanley's supporters' coach came under attack from a
group of "Lincoln City supporters". Bricks and
missiles were thrown at the coach, shattering two panes
in the windows and in total, causing damage of around
£1,500. Fortunately, the coach windows were
double-glazed thereby preventing serious injury to the 50
supporters on board.
Eye-witnesses on the coach claim that 6 youths aged
around 15 to 16 were responsible for the attack;
Lincolnshire Police are investigating the incident so
anyone with information should contact them.
